Trailstack LLC ("Trailstack," "we," "us," or "our") operates the adventure booking platform at gotrailstack.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information about you when you use our Platform.
2. Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored securely via Firebase Authentication). You may also provide a phone number for booking coordination.
Booking information
When you make a booking, we collect the details of the experience you're booking, dates, group size, and any information you provide in the booking form (e.g., trip notes). Payment is processed by Stripe — we do not store your card number or full payment details.
Communications
Messages you send to Suppliers through our in-platform messaging system are stored in our database to facilitate your booking.
Usage information
We may collect information about how you use the Platform, including pages visited, search queries, and features used. This helps us improve the product.
Supplier information
If you apply to become a Supplier, we collect your business name, contact details, license or credential information, and bank account details (handled by Stripe Connect) for payouts.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account.
- To process bookings and payments.
- To send booking confirmations, reminders, and transactional emails.
- To facilitate communication between travelers and Suppliers.
- To improve the Platform and develop new features.
- To detect and prevent fraud or abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations.
4. How We Share Your Information
With Suppliers
When you book an experience, we share your name, email, phone number, and booking details with the Supplier so they can fulfill your booking. Suppliers are prohibited from using this information for any purpose other than fulfilling your booking.
With service providers
We use the following third-party services that may process your data on our behalf:
- Firebase (Google) — database, authentication, and file storage.
- Stripe — payment processing and Supplier payouts.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
- Google Maps — location display on listing pages.
- Vercel — hosting and infrastructure.
Legal requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Trailstack, our users, or others.
We do not sell your data
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.
5. Cookies and Tracking
The Platform uses browser local storage and session storage to maintain your login state and trip planning session. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels. We may use analytics tools in the future; this policy will be updated if we do.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Booking records are retained for at least 7 years for accounting and legal compliance purposes. You may request deletion of your account at any time (see Section 7); booking records will be anonymized rather than deleted to preserve financial records.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your account and personal data.
- Opt out of non-transactional emails (use the unsubscribe link in any email).

8. Children's Privacy
The Platform is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), Firebase Security Rules, and role-based access controls to protect your data. No system is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable precautions to protect your information.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
